TIME AND SPACE WITH TRISTAN: a documentary about a musician, the life of Tristan Honsinger in Berlin (director and editor: Hiroki Mano – 80′ – 2024, Musubu prod. – music by Tristan Honsinger and his musical families)
Screening and meeting with the author
Hiroki Mano is a guest at the DAE with this audiovisual work that attempts to make a portrait of Tristan Honsinger during his Berlin years. Mano was Tristan’s collaborator and assistant, even in the period when the American artist’s health began to fail. The premiere of the film at the DAE is a tribute to the career of Honsinger, who left us a year ago in Trieste.

SUBBURBEN – live electroacoustic set.
Andrej Kobal – electrophony
Gal Furlan – drums, percussion
Subburben is a Slovenian duo from the Vipava Valley, engaged in sound research and experimentation. The genre of their music could be defined as psychedelic noise with a touch of free jazz, but otherwise the situations the two musicians find themselves in when improvising are “colorful” and of a very wide spectrum.
Gal Furlan is a drummer and percussionist who comes from the school of Zlatko Kaučič, but he also works with writing, painting, teaching drums and gong therapy. He runs the Klub Štala in Lokavec near Ajdovščina.
Andrej Kobal is a musical experimenter, composer and sound designer, who does not use pre-prepared structures or patterns in his performances, but rather a mass of sounds that allow him unpredictable interaction and exploration within them. He uses his own virtual instruments for his performances: granuRise and seqMPEror.
CRYSTAL THERAPY – electronic live set
Lux – violin, synth
Psonic – drum machine, turntable
Crystal Therapy is a spiritual electronic dub duo consisting of Lux (synthesizers and violin) and Psonic (@psonic, drum machine and turntable). After a series of concerts in 2023, including Argo and Sajeta Festival, in 2024 the duo participated with a featuring on Oltrefuturo’s (@oltrefuturo) EP ‘Aural Deception,’ released by UK label Trule Records (@trulerecords). Currently, they are recording their first album.
OZENA – D’n’B Djset
Ozena was born in late 2018 out of an enthusiast’s desire to spread his love for drum and bass. After more than a decade of attending bass music gigs, sometimes across the Channel, it was time to give the right spotlight to the most abused genres in the motherland: 140 bpm and dnb.
THEODOR FUCHS / GILBERTO MAZZI (SoundGiusto collective) – house/techno Djset
A combo of DJs from Trieste who will make DAE dance in the best Dobialab tradition.
Aug 24 h 21:
GERDAKI DUO – live impro/acoustic set
Elena Cantarutti – harp
Mirko Cisilino – trumpet
Gerdaki was born without demands, delineating itself with time in a path of experimentalism and instinitivà. “To seek means: to have a purpose. But to find means: to be free, to remain open, to have no specific purpose.” (Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha).
From a melodic and folk approach to “noisy” research, it is not only the instruments that speak, but rather it is a narrative, a dialogue focused on improvisation and freedom, showing their vision of the surrounding reality.
MONTAGU – live set avantrock/jazz
Piero Bittolo Bon – alto saxophone
Alberto Cavenati – electric guitar
Giorgio Pacorig – Fender Rhodes, Korg MS20
Premiere for this powerjazz trio featuring pianist Giorgio Pacorig joining one of Italy’s most decisive alto voices, Bittolo Bon. For the first vota guest at DAE Alberto Cavenati, an Italian guitarist based in Berlin where he is active with the label Trouble in the East records.
MYST K – electronic live set
Drones, sound design, sonic liberation.
From the UK by way of Prague, MYST K sonorizes the inner room of Dobialab with his psychedelic, enveloping eletrronica in a set that asks the listener to open their listening.

DOBIAFILM presents:
BONES – BORN IN THE 80s
Collective experiment in music video clips.
Collective work born from a workshop held at Dobialab in recent months. Protagonist is the music of Dematrimonio.
RED SHOES – short film screening by Katia Bonaventura (ETRA collective production, 2023), live performance by Elisa Cecchini
Dance and video performance, an experiment that DAE is happy to welcome.
JUSTAPOSitions – live set of sand art and music.
Fabio Babich & Massimo Racozzi – sand art
Craxy Sex Tape – music
The bittersweet punk discomfort of Craxy Sex Tape and the elusive flow of Babich and Racozzi’s eternally moving sandart snapshots intersect on this evening in the creation of a true picaresque tale of the unadorned province.
The Craxy Sex Tape are a duo, synth + acoustic guitar, a complex of the territory singer of the discomfort of the same. They come from punk, with a 20-year career behind them and nobody noticing!
Fabio Babich and Massimo Racozzi, visual artists whose hands trigger a cyclical motion of creation and destruction. Using sand they shape ephemeral imagery in a constant search for balances between light and shadow
EXHIBITS:
Sandro Pellarin, Massimo Spadari, Marco Oplà+ Pasian – artist’s books
Sandro Pellarin: I began to be actively involved in art in 1996 when, moved by a passion for cinema and video in general, I am among the founders, in Portogruaro, of the group of videomakers DALLEMENEALLETE, within which I edited the screenplay, direction and editing of several short and medium-length films screened in festivals and exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and awarded in national competitions. I have also used video as an educational tool in the school setting by coordinating several workshops and projects and winning awards in national school competitions.
I have been a member, since its inception, of the ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE PORTO DEI BENANDANTI within which I collaborate in the organization of artistic and cultural events of decades of duration, such as Orchestration and Notturni di versi and in the management of the open source gallery PAB (Punto Arte Benandante).
Massimo Spadari is trained in printmaking techniques at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 – 2021. At the same time, a private workshop is set up at San Donà di Piave in which printmaking research is pursued through ancient printing techniques such as woodcut and intaglio. First learned in the academy and then continued individually, the techniques of engraving and printing on the press ( woodcut on wood, silkscreen on paper and fabric, lithography on stone, movable type typography and intaglio on zinc) represent the language of artistic research.
Marco opla+ Pasian (Rome’62). A freelance architect, he is involved in cultural networks and is active as a concept-designer. He lives and works in Portogruaro, Venice. He made his debut as a postal artist and musician, and in 2000 together with Giorgio Chiarello he founded and directed the independent research group OPLA+ with which he mainly makes environmental installations. He also makes object books investigating the ‘Urbanism of Feelings” working with images from Google Street View and poems by friendly authors.
Giacomo Sandron – collages
Giacomo Sandron lives and works in Milan.
As a poet he published the collection Cossa vustu che te diga, released in 2014 by Samuele Editore. His texts can be found in anthologies, literary journals and blogs, hand-sewn and wooden books.
For more than a decade he has organized and participated in public readings, performances, workshops, cultural initiatives, poetry slams, and festivals. He has since become a samurai of the cutter, making analog collages as fresh as bread, as crisp as a cuoppo in Mergellina, as delicate as a punishment at Gianfranco Zola’s crossroads.
Giulia Zanier and Maria Izabela Miron – mixed media prints.
Our paths met at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where we still continue our studies in the world of Graphic Art.
Our exhibition proposal deals with prints made in the last two years, in order to introduce and highlight ancient engraving techniques, practices that we still explore and learn in order to illustrate our imagery.
These techniques include Drypoint, Etching, Ceramolle, Aquatint and Burin, all the way to Xylography.
Sandra Jovanovska – video
Gašper Milkovič Biloslav – video (music by Shekuza and Warhorse)
GMB is a visual artist whose work is strongly influenced by historical artistic visual approaches and video technology that today is mostly considered obsolete. By researching and experimenting with ways to incorporate such tools with contemporary technological advances, he develops an original visual language that is intriguing and relevant despite clear influences from the past. He is especially active in the fields of live visuals, AV live acts, experimental music videos and AV installations.
