Dobialab invites you to a Sunday journey by hosting a stage of the European project BETTER LIVE curated by the Ljubljana association ZAVOD SPLOH from 5.30pm:
DIEGO CAICEDO: guitar
VASCO TRILLA: percussion
ANDREA GULLI: live electronics
PAOLO PASCOLO:: flutes, tenor sax
Better Live is an international project that will last until August 2026 and wants to promote the sustainable movement of musicians across Europe, taking into account economic, social and environmental aspects. The circulation will therefore take place in the form of small concerts in connection with local communities and will be fairly paid. The project supports and provides expertise for 9 informal networks across Europe, which are a condition for effective artistic circulation in Europe. Zavod Sploh is the main partner in our region, and 12 Slovenian, Italian and Croatian organizations engaged in promoting concerts and other events related to free improvisation are included in the regional network, including DOBIALAB Research Area Group.
In the first Better Live tour the guests are two musicians from Barcelona, the guitarist Diego Caicedo and the drummer Vasco Trilla in Dobialab they will be joined by Paolo Pascolo and Andrea Gulli.
Better Live is co-financed by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union and is part of Zavod Sploh’s Razsrediščenja concert series.

The musical program then continues with:
OTTO WILBERG
GIULIO ERASMUS CATASTROPHE
Otto Willberg performs unashamedly melodic improvisations created almost entirely with heavily filtered harmonica and electric bass. Strangely abstract funk and fusion, a blend of the abstruse and the immediate, silky smooth, luxurious, strange and addictive, “like listening to Eberhard Weber through an exhaust pipe”.

Giulio Erasmus catastrophe travels among incomprehensible mutterings, songs and collapsing collages of a simpleton with simple ideas about simplicity. Post post ‘pfunk’ / pre post ‘dub’ / ‘XP’ / proto music from Bruxhole, but a hole is not a grave. Now played as a quartet! Calamity!
