Dobialab and LIVE-Musiche di Sconfine, in collaboration with Caffè Esperanto, propose the live MERCURY, a Canadian improjazz formation by Lori Freedman and Nicolas Caiola.

Lori Freedman is one of the best-known avant-garde clarinetists of her generation; Her approach to the bass clarinet in particular is absolutely unique and unmistakable. During her career Lori has played among others with Steve Lacy, Roscoe Mitchell, Misha Mengelberg, Joe McPhee, Toshimaru Nakamura, Rohan de Saram, John Butcher, Joëlle Léandre, George Lewis, Axel Dörner, Phil Minton, Frances-Marie Uitti and Richard Barrett.

Gifted with a surprising and original voice, Nicolas Caloia is one of the pillars of the Montreal new music scene. He regularly collaborates — as a double bass player, composer and musical director — with Tristan Honsinger, Joe McPhee, Matana Roberts, Malcolm Goldstein, Sam Shalabi, Jean Derome, Joshua Zubot and Yves Charuest.
